Art and Decoration

Art in the time of AI

The difference and the sameness

In the art world, there seems to be a significant perception that art is a decoration. Simply a piece that fits the decor of a room. While that is a reality, for me, it's not the reason for creating art. But I would be a liar if I said it wasn't always in the back of my mind. Ultimately, I create to satisfy myself, my goal is to ask the viewer to interpret what the painting means to them and to hopefully see more meaning over the years living with the artwork.

As I create, I pour my essence into each artwork, weaving together threads of emotion, thought, and experience. My art is not just a reflection of myself, but an invitation to others to engage in a deeper conversation. I envision my pieces as catalysts for introspection, sparking moments of connection and understanding that evolve over time.

In a world where art is often reduced to mere decoration, I strive to create work that defies such limitations. My art is not meant to simply adorn a space, but to inhabit it, to breathe life into the rooms it occupies. I long for viewers to slow down, to truly see, and to allow themselves to be seen. For in the stillness, I believe we can find meaning, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Through my art, I hope to forge a bond between the creator and the observer, a bond that transcends the physical and speaks to the human experience. I create for myself, yet I create for you, too. I create to understand, to process, and to heal. And I create because, in the end, it is not just about the art, but about the conversations it sparks, the emotions it evokes, and the connections it forges.
